I have hand forged it from one piece of silver, and as a result, it is a twisting design like the guitar playing that inspired it. It was a pure chance it came out looking like a pea pod and I rather like it so named it for what it looks like. It hangs from a matching rope chain with an easy to do up S-clasp. I never make the same thing twice; consequently, the Sweet Pea Pod Necklace is a one-off piece.Inspired by Music and SynaesthesiaI am synaesthetic, which is a neurological trait where the senses cross. Therefore I have a strong visual impression of shape, colour, movement and sometimes texture when I hear music. Despite its name, the Sweet Pea Pod Necklace is inspired by what I see when I listen to music. As a result, the shapes in this silver pendant are little snippets of electric guitar music made visible by my synaesthesia. Hence it twists and curls like music. Consequently, I can eliminate the need for newly mined silver in my work. I melted a piece of old silverware down.
